GR 14 footbridge in Quintanilla de Arriba
Quintanilla de Arriba
About
Travelling 1.5 km from Quintanilla de Arriba along the “Senda Botánica del Duero a la Isla” we spot the first of the three footbridges built in 2013 following the GR 14 Path on its Valladolid stage (the second crosses the Duero over Pesquera de Duero and the third crosses the Duratón as it passes through Peñafiel). On the other bank of the river is the Dehesa de los Canónigos winery.
The Asturian engineers who designed, manufactured, transported and assembled these three footbridges were inspired by one of the most popular monsters in the mythology of the Principality to give it its name: “It looks like a hare crossing over the water“.
Crossing this footbridge allows the walker to enjoy nature and beautiful views of the Douro.
You can see more riverside bridges here.
