The Bodega la Asunción de Nuestra Señora winery is located in the town of Gumiel de Izán in Burgos, which has been declared a Historic-Artistic Site. Just 70 kilometres from Burgos and 10 kilometres from Aranda de Duero.

It was founded in 1963 by 300 members, all of them winegrowers from Gumiel de Izán, one of the most highly regarded areas within the Ribera de Duero production area.

After several refurbishments and extensions, it currently has 2,000 m2 of winemaking area.

At present, 220 hectares of Tinta del País and Blanca Albillo grapes are grown. The average age of the vines is 80 years, the plantations are “goblet type” and the grapes are harvested by hand. These characteristics give the wines of this winery an excellent quality.

Morozán is the brand name of the Sociedad Cooperativa la Asunción de Nuestra Señora.
