About

The monastic complex was an initiative of Alfonso X the Wise in 1266. The rooms that can be visited are the church and its sacristy, the crypt and the cloister. This cloister originally had only one floor, on top of which another brick floor was later built.

In the museum we can contemplate polychrome stone carvings of the Virgin and the Angel of the Annunciation and two sculptures of Saint Dominic (one from the 15th century in alabaster and the other from the 16th century in polychrome wood).

The museum has recently been extended with the opening of another room in the north area called the Palace or Medieval Room.

Tickets can be purchased at the Tourist Office (www.caleruega.es) in Caleruega C/ Obispo, nº 12 (next to the square). E-mail turismocaleruega@hotmail.com and telephone 688 70 35 36

The office will be open from Friday to Sunday and public holidays from 10am to 2pm and from 3pm to 7pm.
