Tubilla del Lago
About
The Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción in Tubilla del Lago dates back to the 16th century. It is a popular church with a single nave. With a rectangular floor plan, the sacristy is attached to the chancel on the right side and, next to it, there is a portico with a popular segmental arch. It has a Romanesque tower, with two openings for the bell tower on the side façade. The chancel has diagonal buttresses at the corners.
Inside, the Romanesque style baptismal font stands out, which was originally located in the hermitage of San Marcos. The vault is ribbed and the pantheon belongs to the Alcocer family, which consists of a large arch flanked by pilasters in the Herrerian style, with two coats of arms carved.
