Oreja Convent
Mélida
About
In the historic centre of the Ribera del Duero, Convento Oreja was born in 2002 , taking the name of an old 12th century Cistercian Convent, when a group of friends decided to carry out a project that had been pulsating in their gatherings for some time: to enjoy friendship around a glass of their wine, a glass that would reflect their own style, their passion, their work and that of nature in the lands of the Ribera del Duero.
As it passes through our land of Peñafiel, the Duero River confirms its nature as a privileged space for the production of exceptional wines. Its mist encircles and caresses the bunches of grapes, giving the wines that blend of vigour and finesse that characterises them. They are based on the enormous potential of the Tinta del País grape variety, which gives wines rich in body and colour, reds with aromas that are enlightened, toasty, ripe, full-bodied, with the flavour of ripe fruit and a surprising tannic relief.
The passion for wine and the soul that Convento Oreja puts into its production is transmitted during the visit to the winery with closeness and naturalness. They take a tour of the history of the Cistercian monks of Convento Oreja, the vineyards at the foot of the winery, the natural environment that characterises us and the production of the wines and their subsequent ageing.
Continuing the day with a commented tasting of some of their wines depending on the type of visit chosen to complete an exciting and fun wine tourism experience.
They offer two types of visits which include a guided tour of the vineyards and the winery, and a tasting of at least Convento Oreja Roble.
