This pedestrian footbridge links the so-called “El Barriles” park and the centre of Aranda (right bank of the Duero) with the area of the Santos Reyes Hospital (left bank of the Duero), being a very busy area for local walkers, and also being a crossing point for the GR-14 footpath.

After several changes of layout to preserve the entirety of the park of El Barriles, in 2010 this steel pedestrian bridge was built, reddish in colour and almost three metres wide, which crosses the Duero river. It was designed by the Junta de Castilla y León and financed by the Ministry of the Rural and Marine Environment (MARM).
