About

This riverside village rests on the right bank of the Duero before its course reaches San Esteban de Gormaz, the municipality to which it belongs.

There are several walks that allow you to enjoy the nature of Pedraja de San Esteban in Soria: the hiking stage of the Camino del Cid, the walks through the Vergazal ending at the spring of Fuente Retuerta, or the walk to Peñalagua.

The Church of Santa María Magdalena was restored a few years ago, thanks to the contribution of the Teresian nun, daughter of the village, Delfina Macarrón.

Typical of Pedraja de San Esteban are the cakes and flour cakes, washed down with the wine made by hand in the wine presses and cellars.

They still play the games of calva and skittles and celebrate their fiestas in honour of Santa María Magdalena on 22nd June (they used to be held in August). They also keep the day of San Isidro.

The people of Pedraje are also known as the“aguachaos” due to the amount of water that used to flow in the area.
