Coming from a family of winegrowers from the riverside town of Pedrosa de Duero (Burgos), Carmelo Rodero belongs to the fourth generation of winegrowers. He began cultivating his family’s vineyards for a few years and with 50 hectares of vineyards, he sold his grapes to the legendary Bodega Vega Sicilia for 14 years.

In 1990 he started his own business, creating Bodegas Rodero, which is currently a benchmark of quality in Ribera del Duero, with 120 hectares of vineyards and an average age of 30 years. All its wines have won awards at the most important wine fairs and tastings worldwide, serving as a contrast and recognition of their quality.

Carmelo Rodero has continued his entrepreneurial activity thanks to the incorporation of his daughters Beatriz and María, who are very involved in the project.

The winery is located in the heart of the Ribera del Duero region of Burgos, where you can learn first-hand about the entire production process that the grapes undergo from the moment they enter the winery until the wine is ready to be consumed.

Carmelo Rodero is not content with knowing how to dialogue with the land and has recently patented a unique vinification room, which allows the grapes to be pampered to the maximum by simply using gravity, without pumping, obtaining from the grapes all their potential and genuine characteristics, thus combining traditional methods with the most modern technology.
