Children used to play tricks on strangers under this tree. They would make them hug the tree and then hold them down and whip them with their belts.
This pine tree sprouted just in time to witness Alfonso XII’s victory over Carlos VII, putting an end to the Carlist Wars. The region of Fuentecen was fully involved in the conflict, where liberal columns monitored the Carlist forces passing through the surrounding area.
The medicinal uses of the stone pine come mainly from its fruit, the pine nut. This food, rich in omega 3 and 6, helps to reduce cholesterol, and these fruits also improve brain health by protecting cells from oxidative damage.
The preservation of these natural gems is everyone’s responsibility. Respect their environment 🙂
