A Chateau in the heart of the Ribera.

The love of the land and the vineyard led the Sastre family to delve into the intricacies of this restless world of wine more than 7 decades ago. Severiano Sastre was the pioneer of this great project and already in the fifties he produced his first wines in the underground cellars of La Horra. Gradually, with the profits obtained, he bought more land and planted more vines in the surrounding area.

In 1957, together with an enterprising group of winegrowers, he took part in the founding of the Virgen de la Asunción cooperative. His son, Rafael, continued with the artisan trade and, in 1992, he decided to realise the dream he had had since he was a child; to create his own winery in the heart of the Ribera del Duero, together with his sons Pedro and Jesús Mª.
