Currently converted into accommodation, the Palacio de los Serrano in Sotillo de la Ribera is a superb neoclassical building from the 18th century, declared a B.I.C.(Bien de Interés Cultural) by the Junta de Castilla y León, with the category of “Monument”.

It is an ancient jewel made of stone dating from 1740. The building was built by order of Don Juan Antonio Serrano Mañero, one of the most interesting characters of Sotillo de la Ribera. He soon turned his life towards an ecclesiastical career, thanks to which he obtained important posts: canon, penitentiary and Rector of the University of Santiago. Closely linked to the circles of power, he carried out an important artistic programme in Sotillo de la Ribera and introduced neoclassicism in this municipality: he financed the work on the main altarpiece of the church, promoted the patronage of the chapel of Nuestra Señora del Rosario and built a new ancestral home for the family. He also financed the reconstruction of the Chapel of the Virgen de los Prados.

At the end of the 20th century, this building came to belong to the Town Council of Sotillo de la Ribera. It is currently used as rural accommodation.

• Seven rooms, very spacious and comfortable: three doubles, two twins and two triples, all of them equipped with independent bathroom. There is the possibility of having two cots.
• The dining room-kitchen has a capacity for 20 people. The lounges of the house have TV.
• The lounge has billiards, as well as a collection of games. The living room is equipped with audiovisual equipment for up to 14 people.
• The house also has a private interior garden for your personal peace and relaxation.
• On the walls hang paintings by local painters, Fermín Aguayo and Santiago Izquierdo, as well as walnut wood carvings by Amancio Calvo.
