Valdanzuelo
Valdanzuelo
About
Valdanzuelo lies in a very narrow valley and houses line both sides of the hill.
Water is one of its main assets, with springs and streams springing up everywhere, which once irrigated abundant orchards. “El Manadero” is the most famous spring, it emerges in the mountain and originates a stream that crosses Valdanzuelo under the name of “La Mostaza” and later becomes the river Valdanzo, flowing into the Duero at the height of Langa.
It is a privileged place, where nature abounds in its raw state, one can wander around the village for kilometres without encountering any human being, but only deer, foxes, vultures, eagles, wild boars,… or immense holm oak woods, pine forests, junipers, thyme, lavender, mushrooms… springs and fountains (all in the form of pits).
Locals: Valdanzuelinos but they are known by their nickname “calaminches”.
