Of the so-called tower of Corcos, located on the outskirts of the current municipality of Valdezate, only a wall to the west remains. The remains of its base measure about eight by four metres, and the wall is quite thick and made of masonry. It seems that the function of this architectural element was to serve as a defensive tower for the local herds and those of the Count of Miranda, and later for the transhumant herds.

Located on the moor that gives it its name, at an altitude of 946 metres, the Corcos tower was declared an“Asset of Cultural Interest” in 1949.
