Valladolid, 29 April 2024. The Fundación Las Edades del Hombre has hosted today the presentation of the association Rutas del Vino de Castilla y León, a tool for the promotion of wine tourism that brings together the nine wine routes of the Community by valuing their interests and working together for the excellence of the tourist service of their production areas. Thus, this new association counts as founding members the consortium Ruta del Vino Arlanza, the association Ruta del Vino Arribes, the association for the Development of Wine Tourism in El Bierzo (Ruta del Vino Bierzo), the association Ruta del Vino Cigales, the consortium Ruta del Vino Ribera del Duero, the association Ruta del Vino de Rueda, the association Ruta del Vino Sierra de Francia, the association Ruta del Vino Toro and the association Ruta del Vino Zamora.

The event was attended by the Director General of Tourism of the Junta de Castilla y León, Ángel González Pieras, as well as representatives of all the wine routes in the region. Ángel González Pieras highlighted the “absolute importance of the wine routes and food and wine tourism within our tourist offer”. “We have no doubt that the associationism was fundamental”, assured the general director.
One of the main objectives of the Castilla y León Wine Routes Association is to promote the excellence of the wine tourism service in the different production areas it covers, promoting the consumption of products related to wine tourism. In addition, one of its main functions is to represent the different Wine Routes of Castilla y León before regional, national, European Union and international organisations.
