About

It is an important medieval stone bridge with 16 spans, based on another of Roman origin that has been continuously repaired and conserved (the last works were carried out in 2016).

It is located in a bifurcated area giving way to two riverbeds of the Duero River separated by a central islet, making it a very long bridge whose dimension reaches 200 metres and 8 metres wide.

The oldest references date back to 1519, and it may even have had a tower to control the pontazgo (tax to use the bridge) and, as we have seen with the rest of the bridges, it has undergone countless repairs throughout its existence.

Next to the bridge, there is a quern that used to serve a mill complex (today converted into a mini-power station). It is currently a very busy bridge, as it is the only one that joins the two banks of San Esteban de Gormaz.
